The Team
Our educators are our students‘ main attachment figures at the boarding school. They are present at the dorm from Sunday night 18:00 pm to Friday night 22:00 pm. During the weekends, our students are looked after by school teachers of the Eckenberg-Gymnasium.
Our team (right to left):
- Julien Schubert, teacher of English, geography, and bilingual geography; head of the dorm (r.)
- Theresia Burkhart, state-approved educator, joined the team in 2024
- Stefanie Reichert, state-approved educator, joined the team in May 2000
- Birgit Herberich, state-approved educator joined in May 2013
Mentors
Our mentors are teachers employed at our school, and the first point of contact for our students in matters concerning their studies. They are a vital link between the school and the dorm.
A mentor is assigned to each boarding school student, who then keeps track of the student’s grades and comportment in class. This information is used in three coaching sessions taking place in the course of the academic year: The pupil’s performance at school as well as their demeanor and possible difficulties will be discussed in a comprehensive feedback collected from all their teachers. The goal of these coaching sessions is finding each young person’s best course of action to achieve their individual best possible results at school.
We offer..
- a motivated team that roots for our students, cares for them, and supports them wherever necessary
- teachers who are happy to explain subject matter once more during our mandatory study hall, in case things didn’t become quite clear in class
- modern, attractive common rooms, which have been decorated by our students themselves to fit their needs and wishes
- a voice, and representation through elected spokespersons during the monthly plenary meeting of the boarding school
We want our students…
- to learn peaceful coexistence, solidarity, tolerance, consideration of others, and how to solve conflicts sensibly
- to learn how to be successful at school, structure their personal lives, their learning processes, and how to tidy their dorm room 😉
- to enjoy a pleasant time at school and the boarding school as a protected space
- to form fast friendships - preferably ones that keep for life
